Federal and State Grant Information
奖助金 are various monies that are provided for students and do not have to be 偿还. You are automatically considered for state, federal, and New Mexico Tech grants when you complete the Free Application for Federal Student 援助 (FAFSA). Awards and amounts are based on your financial need, availability of funds, and any additional eligibility 标准.
At the beginning of the school year, grants are divided into two equal payments - one each for fall and spring semesters - unless stated otherwise in the grant description.

的 Pell Grant is a need-based federal grant that does not need to be 偿还. 学生 must complete the FAFSA annually in order to determine eligibility. Amounts can vary 每年. 的 amount a student is awarded depends on: Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from the FAFSA, cost of attendance (varies at each school), enrollment status, and whether or not the student plans to attend for the full academic year. | Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) | March 1, 2023 |
的 Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is a need-based federal grant that does not need to be 偿还. This is a limited funding program; it is strongly recommended that students complete the FAFSA as soon after October 1 as possible, but no later than the priority deadline (March 1) in order to be considered. 的 student must be eligible for the Pell Grant; beyond that, students who have exceptional need and who have the FAFSA and all other required documents (if applicable) on file by March 1st will be considered for this grant. Satisfactory Academic Progress must be maintained by each student in order to maintain eligibility for any financial aid program (grants, work study, loans).
*FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student 援助. New Mexico Tech's Title IV code for federal financial aid applications is 002654.
** Deadlines represent risk dates. 学生 who apply after these dates may find they are eligible, but may not be awarded certain types of aid due to limited funding.
